Pringle’s Low-Impact, Eco-Friendly Community to Break Ground on Clubhouse Mount Dora, November 8, 2006: Pringle’s flagship community, Lakes of Mount Dora, a unique ecologically-friendly community incorporating a wide array of environmental best management practices, will break ground on their new 18,000-square-foot Island Clubhouse, November 9 from 2-3 p.m. The community is located at 9050 Lakes of Mount Dora Blvd., just off 44 in Mount Dora. The clubhouse and amenities will feature a multi-purpose facility for large gatherings and events, a four-lane competition lap pool and adjoining designer pool, fitness/exercise room, fitness trail with exercise stations, four tennis courts, a large library and reading room, billiards and game room, card room, computer room, and kitchen. Burke, Hogue and Mills Associates is the architect for this project. The community, which features New England-themed architecture, caters to those 55 and better. Approximately 70 percent of the 950 homes in this community will be on the water. The first homes in the community were recently occupied, and others are in various stages of completion. All homes are being built to Energy Star specifications (tankless water heaters, energy-efficient windows, 14 seer air conditioning units, and so forth), and Pringle is incorporating “green” best practices in areas such as landscaping and irrigation, which will increase efficiency of the homes and reduce costs to homeowners.
