There are many cultural activities and events supported by the local area. The Ice House Theatre stages plays, the Mount Dora Center for the Arts features rotating exhibits and The Mount Dora Community Concert Association offers year-round concert series.
There are 5 public parks in and around Mount Dora for swimming, boating and even hiking. Plus, there is a full-service marina on large Lake Dora. This is a fisherman’s and boater’s paradise! The Dora Canal connects Lake Dora to the Harris Chain of Lakes, which can be navigated to the St. Johns River and, ultimately, the Atlantic Ocean. Also, the Ocala National forest is located just north of Mount Dora and offers a wide variety of outdoor activities to enjoy. Then there is the Wekiwa Springs State Park located just to the southeast and the facilities they offer such as canoeing are fun plus you can see a large natural spring here, as well. Mount Dora is also home to the 2nd largest Lawn Bowling Club in the United States. And, we cannot complete the recreation section without mentioning some of the finest golf available is within a short drive from your new home in Lakes of Mount Dora…
