The city of Mount Dora embraces this theme too with its milder climate, sophisticated shopping and vibrant cultural life, which makes it a unique Florida destination. It has won many awards for being such a wonderful place to live and some are:

Lake Dora, a 4,500 acre lake, is at the center of it all and the Lakeside Inn, built in 1883, is the oldest standing structure. There are many other local bed & breakfasts too.

Florida Waterman Hospital is located in near-by Tavares and provides world-class healthcare and a cardiac-care program that is one of the finest available. In addition, Orlando and its many healthcare facilities are near-by, as well.
